Exquisite Corpse - Prodigy "Waking Nightmare"

In 2011 twenty different artists and myself decided to self publish a graphic novel called "Exquisite Corpse". We each contributed our own comics to the graphic novel with the only connection to each other being the first panel from the previous comic - thus making it a comic book version of the surrealist parlor game called the exquisite corpse. It was a away to connect the stories, while still being able to draw and write whatever we wanted.

I chose to write and draw a section from a comic I had been developing called "Prodigy." My excerpt that I did for "Exquisite Corpse" takes place near the half way point of the larger series. I am currently still writing and drawing the series and am hoping to publish it once I am finished.

These pages were originally sent to the printer with all the other artists' pages who contributed to the graphic novel on Nov. 12, 2011. We received the printed copies on July 19 2012.

Animatic Reel - short clip

All footage is property of Hasbro Studios. I made the animatic for this episode and I am particularly proud of working on this sequence. It was a LOT of layers (everything was broken into layers, so I had over 20 files to work with for the scene with the dragon flying through) and took a bit of tweaking to get everything to play smoothly.

Potatoes

My Production 1 film "Potatoes" from my first year of grad year at USC. It was from a poem I wrote in 1999 based off of a photograph I found of my sister and I when we were kids.

The animation is hand-drawn on paper and colored with water-color on paper, which it why it has a slight wrinkled look to it at times.

can't post my animatic reels here for some reason, so they are at vimeo: https://vimeo.com/user24422059/videos

"Nightmare" Animatic - Work in Progress

Here is the rough cut from the sequence "Psion's Nightmare" from my storyboard project... The voice tracks are temporary and I will be updating this cut as I clean-up the storyboards.
